When Change.org started 7 years ago in Indonesia, we didn’t know for sure what it could have achieved. We just knew it was worth a try. And now, we know.
In 7 years, our tools have been used to affect real change in numerous causes; to stand by victims of injustice, to protect the environment, to fight against corruption, and many other causes.
We’ve grown from a user base less than 10 thousand, to more than 10 million users today! Our small team has had the privilege to work with the most passionate and dedicated individuals and organization, supporting them in driving real changes in their communities, and their country.

Below are the job descriptions for each position.

- Campaigns Manager
A Change.org Campaigns Manager is responsible in managing our team of campaigners, as well as our portfolio of high impact campaigns, in service of our users.
This particular position will manage our projects with under specific umbrella issues such as environmental protection, women empowerment, and others.
This involves leading the process of identifying campaigns, developing campaign strategies, mapping power and influence, leveraging media and social media, doing outreach to decision makers, developing creative escalations tactics, and leading a team to execute them.
On top of things having high initiative, a strong understanding of the Indonesian socio-political landscape, an ability to learn new digital tools; the Campaigns Manager must have strong managerial, coaching, and facilitation skills.
A wide network network in civil society, media, and decision maker would be a great advantage.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage & prioritize winnable and high impact campaigns to assist in our portfolio.
- Lead the team to develop campaign strategies including messaging, media outreach, social media activation, decision makers engagement, and escalation tactics.
- Lead the design process of winning campaign strategies, from developing sharp key messages, mapping power structures, to creative campaign tactics.
- Build and manage relationship with related civil society organization to help drive campaigns.
- Do general campaigning work such as producing content, writing emails, administering Change.org tools, when needed.
- Monitoring and supporting performance of campaigners, as well as facilitating personal development, contributing to the culture of wellbeing and work-life balance to the team.
- Assist project director in determining a strategic direction for the projects department
- Along with Project Director, develop proposals and reports for specific projects.
We are looking for people with:

- University Degree in Social Sciences or relevant field
- Minimum of 6 years experience leading campaigns for social impact
- Strong managerial & coaching skills
- Strong understanding of the socio-political landscape in Indonesia
- Ability to write compelling & impactful stories, sometimes through limited mediums and under tight timelines.
- Strong media campaigning skills
- Fast ability to learn new digital tools and apps
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Fluent spoken English (fluent written English, preferred)
- Wide network of Civil Society Organizations, media, or decision maker

2. Campaigner
A Change.org Campaigner is instrumental in helping our users create the change they want to see. They help our users launch, run, and win successful campaigns on the site.
This will involve writing, developing campaign strategies, mapping power and influence, administering our email tool, leveraging media and social media, doing outreach to decision makers, and developing creative escalations tactics.
The Campaigner must have a high initiative and passion to serve, and a strong understanding of the Indonesian socio-political landscape. They must also be confident with learning new digital tools. A wide network in civil society, media, and decision maker would be a great advantage.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify campaigns that are relevant, winnable, and users can support.
- Connect with users and organizations to support them in launching campaigns.
- Design winning campaign strategies for our users, from developing a sharp key message, mapping power structures, to creative campaign tactics.
- Along with content makers, help users produce content including emails, graphics, and videos.
- Administer Change.org tools such as the petition tool, email marketing, and social media accounts to leverage campaigns by our users.
- Engage with civil society organizations in driving campaign support for petition starters.
- Engage with the media to highlight stories in the campaigns as well as the petition starters.
- Engage with decision makers on the local and national level, to make sure our users voices in the petitions are heard.
We are looking for people with:
- High initiative, result oriented, self motivated, adaptive, analytical, creative, and celebrates diversity.
- University Degree in Communications, Politic or other relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years experience campaigning for social impact
- Strong understanding of the socio-political landscape in Indonesia
- Ability to write compelling and impactful stories, in different mediums
- Fast ability to learn new digital tools and apps
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Fluent spoken English (fluent written English, preferred)
- A network of CSO’s, media, or decision makers is preferred.

3. Content Campaigner
As digital content becomes more and more important in campaign, the role of the Content Campaigner is critical to support the team in executing campaigns.
Along with Campaigner, Content Campaigners help petition starters and organizations tell stories through content. Contents will vary from an email text, a meme, an e-poster, a video, and others.
Creating and editing content is part of the job, but so is understanding the issue, listening to our petition starters, capturing stories with a camera, writing stories or storylines, all the way to monitoring results of the content once published.
Responsibilities include:
- Brainstorming with campaigners on powerful content ideas to communicate particular campaign. From developing key messages, illustrations, scripts, and others.
- Executing the sourcing of pictures or footages whether purchased online or directly capturing it.
- Create and editing compelling content with great clarity which is tailored according to corresponding social media channels.
- Publishing contents through the appropriate online channels, and learn from its performance.
We are looking for people with:
- High initiative, result oriented, self motivated, adaptive, analytical, creative, and celebrates diversity.
- 3 years’ experience in creating digital content
- Advanced graphic design skills & well versed in tools i.e. Adobe photoshop
- Advanced skills in video editing and tools such as Adobe Premiere
- Basic photography and video recording skills
- Basic interviewing skills
- Basic copywriting skills & online campaigning skills
- Fluent spoken English (fluent written English, preferred)
- A University Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent is not required, but preferred

4. Administration Officer
The Administrative Officer has an important role of providing ease of mind to the entire team, through ensuring smooth operations in our office and with our projects.
The role provides the highest quality of office management and operations in our Jakarta office. This will includes managing our administration, daily office operations, helping the team with logistics of events, as well as assisting the team with project budgeting & financial reporting.
With the right person, the office administrator can keep the team happy, unstressed, and focused on delivering impact to our users.
Responsibilities include:
- Organize and procure any neccessary documents the organization have or need to ensure compliance to the law and regulations. This may include contracts, invoices, official letters, etc.
- Liase with tax and accounting consultants to execute any necessary transactions
- Record and organize essential information from staff, including bios, annual leave, birthdays, and work anniversaries
- Responsible to manage and control petty cash and reconcile on monthly basis
- Support Campaigners in producing budgets and financial reports for projects and campaigns.
- Assist the team on their logistical tasks, such as equipment procurement, travel arrangements, hotel bookings, and others.
- Assist the team on event related logistics, such as venue, accomodation, consumption, including the administrative tasks.
- Ensure all essential facilities at the office are in good working conditions, and coordinate with Housekeeper for security & office maintenance issues.
- Ensure the office is updated with the neccessary stationery and equipment.
- Maintain accurate registers of the Change.org’s assets and property.
- Liaise with regional/global operations team to help team troubleshoot IT systems and setup.
We are looking for people with:

- Academy/University Degree in Administration, Secretarial Studies or equivalent
- 4 years minimum experience in a similar role
- Experience in office management and general services
- Experience in non-profit or development sector
- Excellent administrative and office management
- Strong understanding in budgeting and financial reporting
- Ability in operating MacBook machines & understand basic iOS softwares
- Fast ability to learn new digital tools and apps
- Fluent spoken English (fluent written English, preferred)
- Knowledge on HR and Event management is preffered.
